In a strange kind of way I am glad that the whole world can see what some in Spain really think.

The authorities and press have a big responsibility in all this as well. The government and sport’s bodies turn a blind eye to racism here and the press whip up hyper-nationalist feelings whenever a Spanish team or sportsperson is in competition.

F1 brings in a massive income to the country, so in a way the the sport needs to clean up it’s act.
The sad part is that these ways of (racist) thinking are still around in different guises all around the globe.
